This is a myth! VoIP is only a technology enabling to transform voice into a digital signal, somewhat like the CDs have replaced the old vinyl records. If the content has passed from microgroove to digital, the medium is still there, the famous actual CD. Therefore, VoIP also needs a copper wire to function.

The private branch exchange (the PBX) from PointCA Télécom supports traditional telephone lines. With four (4) telephone lines, four (4) simultaneous outside calls can be performed, no more. The novelty comes from the fact that in addition to telephone lines, we also use the Internet, enabling to link to outside telephones, or even installed in another country, without having to pay long distance charges.

VoIP is involved in the expansion of your business by Internet and enables to install as many telephones as you want. These telephones will all be linked to the PBX, either domestically, or via Internet if they are installed outside.

PointCA Télécom performed some tests by establishing a connection with the United States, Mexico and Russia, without any degradation of quality, and especially, without paying international fees since the connection was set up via Internet! The IP telephone used was simply programmed locally and sent by standard mail. Once on location, it only needed to be connected to the Internet.
